چکیده

Bone Regeneration In article number 2200298 by Wenguo Cui, Guochun Zha, Dechun Geng, and co-workers, a kind of lithium-based bioglasshydrogel is implanted in femoral defect diabetic rats. Photo-crosslinked hydrogel triggered blue light releases Si4+, Li+ other ions to promote osteogenesis, angiogenesis anti-inflammation. This work represents the delightful approach orchestrating bone regeneration on basis high glucose microenvironment.

Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 1 participates in macrophage polarization via regulating glucose metabolism.

The M1 and M2 polarized phenotypes dictate distinctive roles for macrophages as they participate in inflammatory disorders. There has been growing interest in the role of cellular metabolism in macrophage polarization. However, it is currently unclear whether different aspects of a specific metabolic program coordinately regulate this cellular process. In this study, we found that pyruvate dehy...

Molecular Pathways Regulating Macrophage Polarization: Implications for Atherosclerosis

Recent years have seen a tremendous development of our insight into the biology of atherosclerosis and its acute thrombotic manifestations. Inflammation now takes center stage among traditional risk factors as a decisive factor in cardiovascular risk. Consequently, its assessment and modulation have become key to clinical care and fundamental research alike. Plaque macrophages orchestrate many ...

Promising landscape for regulating macrophage polarization: epigenetic viewpoint

Macrophages are critical myeloid cells with the hallmark of phenotypic heterogeneity and functional plasticity. Macrophages phenotypes are commonly described as classically-activated M1 and alternatively-activated M2 macrophages which play an essential role in the tissues homeostasis and diseases pathogenesis. Alternations of macrophage polarization and function states require precise regulatio...

Investigation of macrophage polarization using bone marrow derived macrophages.

The article describes a readily easy adaptive in vitro model to investigate macrophage polarization. In the presence of GM-CSF/M-CSF, hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells from the bone marrow are directed into monocytic differentiation, followed by M1 or M2 stimulation. The activation status can be tracked by changes in cell surface antigens, gene expression and cell signaling pathways.
